In PCB manufacturing, we often see a variety of colours of PCB boards, in fact, the colour of the PCB surface is the colour of the solder resist, pcb colours are green, black, blue, yellow, purple, red, brown, white and so on.
Generally speaking, electronic products have to go through the production of boards and components SMD soldering. When making boards in the yellow light room, the PCB colour is better visually in the yellow light room if it is green.
When soldering the patches, they must be checked by brushing tin on the solder paste, the patch and the AOI on the backside. These processes require optical positioning and calibration, and the green PCB backing colour is better for instrument identification. In addition, green ink is widely used in consumer electronics and industrial controls due to its high yield and low cost.
White PCB boards have a wide range of applications in medical and LED headlight fields. This is closely related to its heat dissipation and reflective properties. In medical equipment, good heat dissipation performance can ensure the stable operation of the equipment, to protect the safety of patients; and in the field of LED headlights, reflective performance helps to improve the brightness and illumination effect of the light. In addition, the white colour is relatively simple, and it is easier to hide the wiring in case of more wiring, which makes the PCB board more beautiful and regular as a whole.
Black PCB boards are often found in high-end electronic products. This is mainly due to its advantages in closed space heat dissipation, to ensure that the electronic components in the high temperature environment can also work properly. At the same time, the black appearance can well hide the line, increase the confidentiality of the product, and effectively prevent the design from being copied.
The yellow PCB board can quickly meet different needs such as style, cleanliness and visibility, providing more possibilities for product design and manufacturing. However, it also has some minor drawbacks in the form of poor contrast with alignments and screen printing, which may present some challenges for identification and inspection in applications that require a high degree of accuracy.
Blue PCB boards are one of the popular choices for PCB colours. It excels in making thick boards for labels and provides significant contrast with screen printing, making the printed content clearly visible. At the same time, when mounted on LCD displays, blue PCBs do not produce sharp contrasting edges and bright background colours, blending better into the display and providing a more comfortable visual experience for the user.
Red PCB boards offer excellent visibility, clearly defining the contrast of traces, planes and blank areas. In some electronic devices that require high trace recognition, red PCB boards allow engineers to inspect and repair more easily, quickly locate the problem and improve work efficiency.
PCB boards come in a variety of colours, each with its own unique advantages and application scenarios. Understanding the differences and characteristics of these colours helps us to make more appropriate choices in the design and manufacture of electronic products, providing a strong guarantee for product performance and quality.
